Erwin Park in Mckinney TX is a wonderful way to spend the day with your family. There are numerous activities that you can do there any time of the year, including hiking, fishing, biking, kayaking/canoeing, and tennis. There are also a few hidden gems in the ponds and small caves. Another great thing about Erwin Park is that there are two separate parts of the park: a smaller part for more tranquil activities and scenery, and another much larger part with much more to do.

The smaller part of the park does not have much other than a few trails, some trees for shade, and several small ponds. This secluded area is great for bird watching! We often see blue herons, great egrets, white ibis, and red-winged blackbirds.
- A smaller part of the park
The larger part is much more developed with three different biking/hiking trails that are around 10 miles each. The longest trail goes to a camping area where you can camp and even rent a cabin, and also includes a small waterfall. The trails are not very difficult and my entire family does them without any issues every time we go there.

A picture I took of one of the ponds in Erwin Park My personal favorite part is along the trails where there are many different types of caves. Each cave has a different formation around it, creating some great pictures if you have any good ones!
All together Erwin Park is a great place to go to no matter what time of year or what you’re looking for. There’s something for everyone and it is a great place to spend the day.
